Low, Lean & Neon Green 12/2009
When is a Sportster not a Sportster? When it’s been completely chopped by the Exotic Chopper crew in Orlando, FL. Some riders believe that a green motorcycle is bad luck. Not the case here, this is a good looking, good luck motorcycle if there ever was one.
The original machine was an ’81 Harley-Davidson® XLH. Exotic Choppers rebuilt the motor using a Dyna Single-Fire ignition, S&S Super E carburetor and “P” cams (of which there are four). Adjustable pushrods are Crane components; the rocker boxes are from a 1966 XL. Lifters are from JIMS. With a 10:1 compression ratio, the 1000cc motor cranks out 60 horsepower on a good day. The exhaust system was custom built by Exotic Choppers.
Neon green shines bright with an under layer of emerald sparkle. Black and blue pin striping has been hand painted on top of the green. All assembly and fabrication was performed by Paul at Exotic. A hexed cam cover, powder coated cylinder heads and V-Twin oil filter kit completes the show-ready motor.
A unique illuminated hand-shift foot clutch allows the rider to change cogs as needed. The frame is a one-of-a-kind from Exotic Choppers with six inches of stretch and six inches of rise. Neck rake is 40 degrees. The backbone of the frame doubles as the oil bag. Steering is provided by a DNA Springer fork which is six inches longer than stock.
