C5 2/2010

Chris Nichols of Orlando, FL considers himself a lucky guy. He’s living in the state with the most beaches anywhere in the United States. Ride east to the beach or ride west to the beach. That’s a motorcycle rider’s dream, especially when they have a bike like C5 to ride.

C5 is an interesting name for a motorcycle. It’s a single digit away from C-4, the very famous plastic explosive formula used by both the good and the bad guys. C5 (the motorcycle) is without a doubt a very explosive accelerator with its 107” Ultima motor, 45mm Mikuni carburetor, FSD exhaust and forged dome 9.6:1 compression pistons.

Metal Mafia designed and implemented the black with silver/blue rally stripe paint job. Assembly and fabrication by Callahan Custom Cycles ensured fine form and fitment. If you haven’t already noticed, there is an absence of visible wiring; it’s hidden from view inside the frame.

A Roadmax belt drive primary moves the power to a right-side drive six-speed gearbox. The motor and transmission sit in a special TIG-welded Pro-Street style frame that was hand built by The Wrench. The frame features a 45° neck rake and zero up, seven out stretch. The fork is an inverted American Suspension Phantom model. Usually it’s the tubes that are extended to lengthen the fork; here the sliders (on top) got the four-inch stretch treatment.
