Reno Rocket 4/2010

If you see the Reno Rocket tearing down the highway, don’t try to catch it. That has proven to be very difficult on more than one occasion. The lightweight Rocket has a 113” S&S motor which was completely overhauled by Ken Lucas at Knockout Motorcycle Co. The exhaust system was designed by Ralph Randolph to look good and allow the motor to breathe even better. On the intake side of the motor is an S&S Super G carburetor which can feed all but the biggest of motors. The oil tank is a very unique see-through design that allows the oil level to be checked at a glance. The world famous paint gurus at Airea 5150 designed and sprayed the paint and graphics on the limited surface area of the Reno Rocket.

A six-speed Baker Drivetrain PowerBox transmission moves the power to the rear wheel in various ratios at the discretion of the rider. It is of course foot shifted. Motor and gearbox are mounted in a single downtube Board Tracker style Ralph Randolph Designs frame. Mean Street provided the inverted hydraulic fork for this road warrior. A triple clamp rake of five degrees and massive 56mm fork tubes gives the front end a brutish appearance, like a bully with an attitude.
