Kandy Wrapper 4/2010

Deadline Customs’ Kandy Wrapper was constructed for Jesus Mendoza of Forest Lake, MN. As this is written, the weather in Minnesota is not conducive to motorcycle riding, unless you’re a polar bear or have high-voltage electric britches. Dana Hallberg, owner and operator of Deadline Customs, outdid himself with this motorcycle. House of Kolor Kandy Orange and Pearl paint with hand airbrushed trim really makes this bike stand out in a crowd.

An Ultima El Bruto 127” monster motor makes her move. It was thoroughly rebuilt by Midwest. A Crane Hi-4 ignition makes the plugs pop. Four and a quarter inch 10.2:1 compression pistons reciprocate in Ultima cylinders, converting linear motion into circular power. The pushrods are adjustable units from Crane. Feeding the motor mix is a PSI Big Air carburetor that has been polished and chromed. A DLC modified S&S exhaust system extracts the burnt stuff. The result of all these motor goodies is 140 horsepower and 140 ft.-lbs. of torque at the rear wheel.

All those ponies, and all that torque are delivered to the transmission through a Rivera Primo three-inch belt driven primary. The Legend frame was constructed with seven inches of backbone stretch. Mounted up front is a Mean Street Brawler 800C hydraulic fork with four full inches of travel and two inches of extension. Triple clamp rake is seven degrees.
