'09 Dayton Cyclefest Giveaway Bike 5/2010

The Dayton Cyclefest is an up and coming regional bike show in Dayton, OH. Kaos Customs has been the driving force behind the show. Some of the top builders in the country, such as Dave Perewitz and Kendall Johnson, have shown up to offer their support. These builders have realized that the Ohio area might be known for their hot rods, but there are plenty of cool custom motorcycles riding around too. Mike Sparaco was the lucky winner of this Rigid Chopper from Kaos Customs. For a measly $12, Mike was able to attend a great bike show and ride home on this awesome Chopper.

The crew at Kaos Customs loves their Hot Rod 250 Rigid frame so much that it will be available to purchase as a rolling chassis this summer. The price will be a very reasonable $3,995. Some people think the Chopper fad is over, well the huge fad we saw a few years back is over; but a cool Chopper is timeless. If you have ridden a well-designed Chopper, you know how much fun they are.

This bike sits just right, the lines flow like a Chopper should, and it has the right amount of classic Chopper components mixed in with modern reliable technology. The Kaos Hot Rod 250 Rigid frame has a neck rake of 46° with four inches of stretch in the downtubes. The EC Customs Springer front end has zero degrees of rake. The retro 21” front wheel is from DNA and is wrapped by a narrow Avon tire. In the rear, an 18 x 8.5” DNA wheel hosts a 250mm Avon tire. This bike lacks a front brake; therefore the rear brake is extra beefy. A GMA caliper and rotor work together to halt this Chopper. For those of you that thought you couldn’t buy GMA parts anymore, don’t worry, they have been purchased by Belt Drives Ltd. A 100” RevTech is the motor of choice. It is equipped with a Kaos/EC Customs air cleaner, Mikuni 42mm carburetor and Kaos Customs exhaust system. RevTech also supplied the transmission; the three-inch open belt drive is from BDL. Hard Luck Designs made the spring-solo seat, hopefully it is more comfortable than their name implies. The 14” Mini Hot Rod bars are from Kaos, grips are from Todd’s Cycle, the hand controls are from GMA and the headlight is from Headwinds. Kaos Customs and Porky’s Choppers conspired on the gas tank, while the rear fender is all Kaos Customs. EC Customs and Kaos built the mid controls. The Old Skool oil tank is from Mooneyes, and it’s mounted right where it should be. Kaos Customs and BSD applied the black base and House of Kolor Candy Apple Red with Pagan Gold flames.

If you are starting to think about next winter’s build, give the crew at Kaos Customs a call. You would be amazed at how affordable these Hot Rod 250 Rigid frames are. For more information, call 937.520.5865 or visit www.kaoscustoms.com.
