Body Count 6/2010

It’s a stripper of the old style, no to be confused with old school. Revolution Manufacturing’s Body Count has only the bare minimum of operating equipment, which in many cases attracts the attention of traffic law enforcement. But once they get a look at the carbon fiber components, they realize this bike has good, safe brakes and other modern equipment. Racing motorcycles fit the same description, but this two-wheeler is ridden on the street.

“It’s just a mutated runner I assembled from parts laying around the shop, nothing but an old rat bike,” said Michael Kamalian of Revolution Manufacturing. Graphics and paint have not yet been applied, and may never be. Raw metal and carbon fiber best describes this bike. Powering Body Count is a 110” RevTech Evolution-style V-Twin. Horsepower is rated at 115 with 120 ft.-lbs. of rear-wheel torque. Feeding the motor fuel/air mix is a PSI 45mm slide-type carburetor. The short and simple 2-into-1 exhaust system is from the folks at Vance & Hines. The five-speed, left-side drive gearbox is from RevTech and uses Revolution foot controls for gear selection.

The motor and transmission sit in a raw-finish Rolling Thunder Softail-style chassis. Neck rake is a quick steering 32°. Revolution Manufacturing produced the inverted fork using Showa tubes and sliders. Revolution’s Billet King Knurl triple clamps keep everything organized.

Revolution Manufacturing’s five-spoke carbon fiber wheels keep un-sprung weight to a minimum. They also add to the bike’s overall styling while enhancing the acceleration coefficient. A 21” up front and an 18” out back host Metzeler rubber. The front brake caliper is a Tokico unit; the rear is a Hawg Halters four-piston component.

Check out the Ducati hand controls mounted on Pro Taper handlebars, they say “race me” like nothing else can. A RM-built carbon fiber gas tank and carbon fiber rear fender further reduce the weight of the bike. The taillight is from War Eagle. The headlight is a KC Daylighter. Grips, risers, license plate mount, footpegs and oil tank are from Revolution Manufacturing.
