Bud's Biker Parts 12/2009

If you could install an oil cooler that was virtually invisible, regulated oil temperature, and was cost effective, would you install it on your favorite motorcycle? The answer for me would be yes. Most oil coolers without a regulator simply circulate the oil through their cooling area and dump it back into the oil tank. If the ambient temperature is cool their air flow should be blocked, or else they will prevent the motor from reaching its ideal operating temperature.

The Oil Bud regulator starts to open at 185° and is fully open at 205°. If your oil runs any cooler it won’t evaporate moisture which can cause corrosion on internal motor components. The Harley-Davidson® air cooled motor runs best at its OEM recommended operating temperature. The Oil Bud regulated oil cooler accomplishes this without a cover or other attention from the rider.

This means when you park that motorcycle at the end of a long ride there will be little or no residual moisture in the oil. It also means your motor will run at its very best because it will stay at its optimum operating temperature. This is modern aircraft technology applied to our two wheelers.

With lots of cooling surface and a temperature dictating flow regulator, the Oil Bud will keep your motor cool when the temperature is hot and warm when the temperature is cool. It’s the best of both worlds. For more information check out www.budsbikerparts.net.
